I left off from my last post about Go Ask Alice when the girl starts turning things around for herself and trying to forget the past. It took a while that's for sure. Meeting new "friends" that were probably not the best influence. She ran away from home and is on the street feeding her addiction whichever way possible. Yet again, she is tired of the lies and drugs so she vows one more time to never touch them. After a traumatic event on the streets she can't take it anymore and decides to go back home. But how ? she thinks her family will never forgive her. Little did she know her story would turn out like the Prodigal's Son.
Well after finishing the book I was actually surprised because from her diary entries everything was going good she had the grades the friends.. a new beginning.. but thats not why I was surprised. Before reading the book I sneaked a peak towards the end of the novel and read the short epilogue paragraph. The girl who wrote these entries was found without a heartbeat in her room 3 weeks after deciding she didn't want to write anymore. No-one knows if she died by an accidental or premeditated overdose.. all we know is her story and journey throughout her life and sadly it had to be taken away.
